Moses? destiny was bound up with the people of God. He was hidden as a baby and then discovered and brought up in Pharaoh?s household by his daughter. But, when Moses discovered his true identity as a Hebrew, he identified with the needs of his people.
God used him to deliver the whole nation out of Egypt and Moses led them for 40 years in the desert. Moses made the clear decision to join with God?s people and, whatever the consequences, work for them and with them. You have been called to make the same commitment to God?s modern day people, the Church.
Key Thought
Your destiny is linked to the people of God. We are in it together and God wants us to be sure about who we are and whose side we are on. This may mean we have a costly price to pay, but it is worthwhile because the true riches are not of this earth.
Prayer
Lord, I choose to identify with Your people, my brothers and sisters in Christ. I know it may not be easy but I also know that I will never miss out because this it what it takes to follow You.
Discipleship Steps
They say you can choose your friends, but not your relatives! This is true also of the body of Christ. But God knows what He is doing when He joins you to your fellow believers. The Holy Spirit forges spiritual bonds between believers and joins them together in covenant commitment. Know that you have the choice to flow with this principle of God or to resist it. Which path will you choose?
