Listening to Almighty God is fundamental to the life of faith and to every form of spiritual service. Unless we learn how to listen to God, our relationship with him is bound to be distant and superficial. That is why we must spend time in his presence. We hear God speak supremely in the Scriptures, but he also speaks to us through the gift of prophecy. Together with other listeners, we must learn how to recognise his authentic prophetic voice which will always align with the Scriptures. This is a process that includes receiving a word or a revelation, correctly interpreting what we sense God is saying, testing that we have correctly heard the Lord, and, finally, being ready to pass on to others what we have received.
