Children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings

He is the Spirit of restoration and he will bring us into a place of fruitfulness. The fruit of the Spirit is the cultivation of righteousness in our lives which in turn fills us with peace. The effects of righteousness are quietness and assurance. This quiet assurance will give you confidence to face the world every day of your life. It rests on the certain knowledge that God is keeping you and his hand of protection rests upon you at all times. It is as if you have made your home in the most peaceful danger free zone on the planet.

Key Thought

Every good thing that is flowing from your life is the fruit or the product of the Holy Spirit?s work in you. This means all you have to do is to yield to his control and he will work in you his righteousness, his peace, his quietness and his assurance. This is the foundation of a life of security.

Prayer

Dear Lord, I open up to the moving of the Holy Spirit in my life. Let him come and work in me today so that I may grow in righteousness, peace and assurance. Thank you that my security is in you.

Discipleship Steps

Growing as a Christian is like being constantly restored. Just as the restoration of a work of art or a monumental building is gradual, progressive and positive so it is with us. The person in charge of this creative restoration process the Holy Spirit. The more you surrender to him and yield to his work in your life the more you experience his restoration in your life. Trust the Holy Spirit?s leadings and you will enjoy the fruit of his work ? righteousness, peace and security.

Reading this verse in context shows that there are serious consequences that come from rejecting God?s way of wisdom.

You are safe with Christ

But the fruit of wisdom is security and we can be sure God will keep us secure from all evil. This is not an insurance policy against anything negative from ever happening to us, but it is an assurance of God?s peace and protection at all times. Walking on the path of wisdom is itself a guarantee of security and protection. Because wisdom is basically ?knowing how to make life work? we can be sure that God?s wisdom is a sufficient foundation for a building a secure life.

Key Thought

Ignoring God?s voice is dangerous and exposes you to the threats of evil and harm, but going God?s way brings peace, protection and security in every part of your life ? physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Prayer

Lord, I choose to accept your path of wisdom and the way of responsiveness to your voice. Please help me follow you and rest in your secure protection at all times.

Discipleship Steps

Listening to God is as much about what you reject as it is about what you embrace. Self-help, human-based thinking and worldly-based wisdom bring no security in the final analysis. Often these things have a show of wisdom but are in fact short-cut steps to disaster. Make sure that you are listening to the right advice ? godly, Bible-based instruction and not ideas rooted in the feel-good or sense-based wisdom of this world. Where is the security in that?

The everlasting love of God is your only and your ultimate security in life. This security begins with the knowledge that God?s love is unconditional, that is, freely given, and that it is eternal and can never be revoked.

His Love is everlasting

Jeremiah prophesies to a nation that is backslidden and heading for the judgment of God. But even Judah was not without hope. God had not removed His love. He said, ?My love is everlasting and I will draw you back into my love.? That is real security. Even when we fail him, he promises never to fail us. He will always draw us back and restore us again.

Key Thought

The security we are all looking for is to know that we are unconditionally and eternally loved, that we are people of infinite worth in God?s eyes. And that this is something given to us – not something that we have to earn or deserve. This is what God means by his ?everlasting love?.

Prayer

Lord, thank you, that even when I fail you, you will never fail me. I rest under the security of your love for me and ask you to help me respond to this love with a pure heart of gratitude and thanksgiving.

Discipleship Steps

The correct and consistent response to God?s unconditional love is to build on it and not to abuse it. As Judah learned, our backsliding will be met with God?s redemptive grace, but it will also mean being disciplined and judged by the same God who loves us. His love is not weak, and neither is he tolerant of any sin in our lives. A disciple of Christ will rest secure in God?s love and also turn away from every sin and correct everything that is not consistent with God?s will.

Because we have been made right with God through faith in Christ we also have peace with God. No-one can rob us of this or ever take it away. This is our birthright as people of God. But in order to live in this peace we must keep our mind focused on the truth of God?s Word and upon the truth about God Himself.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-1678" class="size-full wp-image-1678" title="Don?t ever shift your focus from His goodness, His power and His love. That way you will discover a supernatural peace in all circumstances.

He is the God of our salvation and as we walk in His ways we find a supernatural peace taking hold of our minds and hearts. Keeping focused on the Lord, and His power and goodness, gives us all the peace we will ever need. His strength is everlasting and He will never fail us.

Key Thought

In order to keep your mind from being attacked by the things that work against your peace of heart you must remain focused on the LORD. Don?t ever shift your focus from His goodness, His power and His love. That way you will discover a supernatural peace in all circumstances.

Prayer

Lord, I set the focus of my mind upon you. Thank you for who you are and what you have done for me. I trust in your everlasting strength, for today and for all the days to come.

Discipleship Steps

To keep your mind ?stayed upon the LORD? is a learned discipline. The battle for peace is won or lost in your mind. As you learn deliberately to focus on God?s loving care and protection for you, so you will cultivate an attitude of peace in your heart. And this, in turn, will begin to govern your choices and actions in life. Anxiety is no basis for decision-making. Rather, let the peace of God guide you and direct you in all things.

You have a special place in the plans of the Lord and He will preserve you completely so that you can fulfil this plan.

He holds us in the palm of His hand

No matter what your enemies do to you, the Lord will never fail to come through for you. His protection will give you the power to conquer your enemies and to stand up against any attack that comes your way. God sends His protecting angels to watch over you and to guard you in all your ways. This means that He will help you stick to the path He has for you and you will not easily turn aside from His will. But remember the condition for all this to come about it that you make the LORD your dwelling place and being satisfied with nothing less than Him.

Key Thought

As you dwell in God?s presence, His protection gives you power over your enemies and the promise of freedom from harm. Plague, terror, disease or disaster will not touch you, as God keeps you for His plan and purpose.

Prayer

Dear Lord, I make you my refuge and my dwelling place. I call upon you in the day of trouble and look for your deliverance and your salvation.

Discipleship Steps

God?s protection does not mean you will never be in situations of challenge or difficulty. Your enemy is against you and wants to stop God?s plan for your life being fulfilled. But you have divine protection in the times of trouble or difficulty. He has given you authority to trample on the serpents and scorpions sent by the enemy. So go boldly about the business of the kingdom of God and don?t be deflected in your commitment and resolve. God is with you!

Intimacy with God brings a sense of security and protection. It also brings you a sense of freedom, as you know God will deliver you from every evil and take you out of harms way.

Enjoy the freedom to live without fear

He will rescue you from fear ? both of the unknown and unpredictable terrors of the night as well as the more obvious things that would strike you in broad daylight. Round-the-clock security and protection is your inheritance as you seek the Lord with all of your heart. This protection will keep you steady when all around you are falling. Don?t let the enemy intimidate you with his threats of destruction. The Lord is your refuge.

Key Thought

You can enjoy security, safety and the protection of the Lord because you have made Him your refuge. This is the basis of your no-fear attitude to the world. The Lord?s presence covers and protects you at all times ? day or night

Prayer

Lord, I choose to trust you today and make you my refuge. I will not be afraid but praise you because you are with me both in the difficult times and in the times of peace.

Discipleship Steps

Making God your refuge is a deliberate choice. It also must become a chosen life-style controlling your actions and behaviour. A disciple of Christ bases his or her attitudes on the knowledge of God?s presence and protection in all things. They do not run here and there looking for relief or comfort in times of trial or difficulty. If the Lord is your refuge, then you go to Him and place your confidence in the Rock, Christ Jesus. Re-affirm your confidence and quite trust in Him today.
