Jesus taught us to pray, ?May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.? Notice he didn?t tell us to pray our will, but the Father?s will. But when we do align with God?s will we discover a wonderful world of answered prayer. We have absolute confidence before God and come away from a time of prayer assured that we have been praying according to the will of God. That means we have been heard and we will see the results of answered prayer.

Key Thought

God wants us to achieve maximum answers to prayer, and this means aligning our prayers with his will. Then we will see the release of God?s, ?Yes!? to our requests. Our confidence is that we can have 100% answered prayer as we pray according to his will.

Prayer

Lord, help me to an understanding of your will in all my praying so that I can pray according to that will and not simply pray my own desires and wishes. Thank you that your will is generous and best.

Discipleship Steps

It is clear that without an understanding of God?s will there is not much success in your prayer life. This means it is a priority to get to know God and his ways. The Scriptures will give you every guideline you need to learn God?s will and see it applied to every situation you face in prayer. But this is not a cold formula or a ?dead letter? approach to your relationship with God. Let God reveal to your heart what he is really like and then learn to pray accordingly.

Reading this verse in context shows that there are serious consequences that come from rejecting God?s way of wisdom.

You are safe with Christ

But the fruit of wisdom is security and we can be sure God will keep us secure from all evil. This is not an insurance policy against anything negative from ever happening to us, but it is an assurance of God?s peace and protection at all times. Walking on the path of wisdom is itself a guarantee of security and protection. Because wisdom is basically ?knowing how to make life work? we can be sure that God?s wisdom is a sufficient foundation for a building a secure life.

Key Thought

Ignoring God?s voice is dangerous and exposes you to the threats of evil and harm, but going God?s way brings peace, protection and security in every part of your life ? physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Prayer

Lord, I choose to accept your path of wisdom and the way of responsiveness to your voice. Please help me follow you and rest in your secure protection at all times.

Discipleship Steps

Listening to God is as much about what you reject as it is about what you embrace. Self-help, human-based thinking and worldly-based wisdom bring no security in the final analysis. Often these things have a show of wisdom but are in fact short-cut steps to disaster. Make sure that you are listening to the right advice ? godly, Bible-based instruction and not ideas rooted in the feel-good or sense-based wisdom of this world. Where is the security in that?
Can you imagine what God?s peace is like? He is never anxious, or stumped, or perplexed, not knowing what to do. He is the Sovereign God of the universe – the All-powerful One whose resources are infinite, and whose plans can never be frustrated or overthrown. This confidence is His peace. And He offers it to you! You can enjoy God?s peace knowing that He is with you and that His grace is working in you to bring about the successful fulfilment of His plans in your life.

Key Thought

God?s very own peace is available to you as an act of His grace towards you. His presence is with you at all times guaranteeing that you can enjoy His peace at all times and in every way you need it.

Prayer

Lord, I take your peace today and am grateful for this gift your grace in my life. Let your confidence live in me today and always. Thank you for your presence with me at all times.

Discipleship Steps

God?s peace is the free gift of His grace. It flows from understanding who He is and experiencing His presence in your life day by day. This is an act of discipleship, because it has to do with following Christ practically, in your daily life. Learn to take God?s peace and let it govern your life in every way. Learn also to walk in God?s grace and favour. Depend on His unfailing power and ability rather than the limited and inadequate resources of your own strength and wisdom.

The word ?hope? in the Bible is never ?hope so? or ?maybe?. It always means something certain, something we look for in the future and something that will surely come.

There is only one way by which we can have Hope, Jesus.

As Christians we always have hope (a confident expectation) that God will come through for us. Psalm 130 shows that our hope is the Lord Himself. As you watch and wait confidently expect your answer from the Lord. He will never fail you. He has already saved you and set you free from your sins, and so how can He not bring with His salvation every good thing in your life? His willingness and ability to rescue you never diminishes.

Key Thought

God has shown His mercy to you in not dealing with you according to your iniquities. Because He has already forgiven you of your wrong doing, you can be sure that He will never fail you in one single detail of your life. All He wants is for you to put your confidence in Him and in Him alone.

Prayer

Lord, I put my trust in you and place all my hopes and dreams in you. Please help me to confidently wait for you to act on my behalf in all situations, no matter how difficult that may be at times.

Discipleship Steps

Discipleship begins with experiencing God?s mercy. We deserve one thing, but God gives us something else ? His grace and forgiveness. This brings us into a relationship of love and deep respect for Him in every area of our lives. And this inspires confidence in God for His provision and help through all the circumstances and situations of life. Resist the temptation to take matters in your own hands. Rather look to God and wait, patiently and confidently, for Him to act.
