The greatest need a believer has is to receive the Spirit of revelation to know Christ better. This knowledge will give you the spiritual understanding of who Christ is and who you are in Him.
The ?eyes of your heart? must be opened so that you can see the truth and the reality of these spiritual matters. Once they do become real to you, you will begin to live the life of freedom and victory Christ has won for you. Your natural understanding will never grasp these matters but God?s power at work in you will bring you to comprehend what you can hope for and confidently expect through your position in Christ.
Key Thought
You have inherited the riches of God?s glory and grace by being in Christ. This means God?s own enabling power is at work in you so that you can live a life of purpose, authority and victory. With this comes the responsibility of living under the government of God through Christ.
Prayer
Lord, help me to see my glorious position in Christ and to take up my place of authority. I ask You to open up the eyes of my heart so that I can receive this spiritual understanding.
Discipleship Steps
Spiritual truths are precious and costly. It takes time to receive them and assimilate them into your life. And yet without such spiritual experience you cannot progress very far in your Christian life. Give God time to speak to you. Learn to meditate on these truths as you read the Word and pray. Spend a special time in prayer today asking God to help you discover your true position in Christ.
Read: Ephesians 1:15-23

We know that in Christ we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3). But have you ever wondered how to enter into this blessing? It is one thing to realise that you are blessed spiritually-speaking, but what does this mean in practical terms?

Many people forget the basis of the blessing – the pure, unmerited favour of God lavished on you by the unconditional love of the Father. Thinking like this stops you from enjoying your blessing. The legalistic preachers step in at this point with their works-based solutions: work harder, pray more, and don’t ever dare slip up! But these exhortations are all false, if they cause you to take your eyes off Jesus!

Jesus came to deliver you from your faults and failings by giving you his perfections and beauty.

The first and foremost principle of blessing is to keep focussed on the Source. Jesus Christ, your Friend and Saviour, is the lover of your soul. Everything good comes from him. Like a child looking expectantly into the loving eyes of a father, so the Holy Spirit directs your attention away from yourself and encourages you always to fix your eyes upon Jesus.

The only way we can enter into the blessing of God, and to stay there, is to set our heart and full attention on Christ. Colossians Chapter 3 verse 3 tells us that our lives are hidden with Christ in God. Jesus came to deliver you from your faults and failings by giving you his perfections and beauty. Why go scavenging in the rubbish bins of your own failures in order to find something of value. God is in the recycling business. He can turn our failures into his success and our weaknesses into his strength – so look to him and not to yourself.

The broken structures of self can never be repaired by the forces that destroyed it in the first place.

When you discover that your sufficiency is in him you never want to look back. You certainly never attempt to improve the old self or patch up the old life, trying to make it acceptable to God. Rather, you look to the One who is the only source of life and blessing.

The great secret of abundant Christian living is no secret at all! It is Christ himself. Religion, on the other hand, is all about self-effort and is guaranteed to fail. The broken structures of self can never be repaired by the forces that destroyed it in the first place.

Blessing is about total rejection of every fleshly effort and total dependence on the supply of God’s grace in Christ. It is time to change your address. Stop living in the past, looking to the things of self. Enter into your true place in the heavenlies. You will soon find the pull of the old pleasures losing their appeal. What could ever compare with our victorious life-giving Lord? Enjoy what is yours and stay blessed!

The New Testament church was an infant church, but the endtime church will be a mature church that is strong and fully developed. When the church comes of age it will be able to stand against all the antagonism and deceitfulness of the enemy. The endtime church will rise to greater power and effectiveness than at the beginning. We see in the book of Acts and the rest of the New Testament what the infant church was capable of. Just imagine the glory of the church in maturity! It will be an effective instrument of world harvest. The Church will rise up and get the job done.
The whole measure of the fullness of Christ (Ephesians 4:13)
This is God?s ultimate goal for the church on earth – Christ filling his body to capacity. The one who fills everything in every way, already fills the church (Ephesians 1:22-23). But this fullness, which we know by faith now, will one day be fully experienced by the church. Christ wants to manifest the fullness of his power, his wisdom and his authority in the church. He wants us to demonstrate to the world the fullness of his love and his grace. He wants us to attain to the fullness of holiness and joy so that he would have a credible body of witnesses on the earth through whom he can manifest his salvation to the world.
It must be the goal of the church in any age to move towards this manifest fullness, and there are some encouraging signs in our generation. All over the world, the body of Christ is rising up and laying hold of the person and presence of Christ. The Holy Spirit is falling on whole nations. The gospel is sweeping over 100,000 people into the kingdom every day worldwide. The growth of the Christian faith, particularly in the so-called developing world, is phenomenal. And in the West, too, there is some progress. We must not falter now. We are on the verge of the church?s finest hour. In our day, we could well see the fullness of Christ manifest in the church!
God?s vision for the church will only be fulfilled when the church truly acts as his representatives on the earth doing the great work he gave us – reaching the world with the gospel. It is something worth dreaming about. It is something worth being a part of. Paul clearly saw the time when it would happen. It must become our goal as individuals and our goal corporately. That is what cell church offers.
