You have the potential to have the mind of Christ. As you increasingly submit to the revelation and the understanding of the Holy Spirit, you will share the thoughts, intentions and attitudes of Jesus Christ. In Ephesians 1:16-17 Paul prays, “I do not cease to give thanks for you; making mention of you in my prayers that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ the Father of glory may give to you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.” He goes on to talk of “…the eyes of your understanding being enlightened that you may know what is the hope of your calling.”

The natural mind cannot accept or understand the things of God. No matter how intelligent we may be, we are totally dependent upon the revelation of the Holy Spirit for every scrap of our understanding of God. However, the Holy Spirit does not want to throw us scraps, He wants to give us a feast of the revelation of God. That is why you must wake up to your spiritual-mindedness and learn how to receive from God in your spirit.

The human spirit

1 Corinthians 2:10: “But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.” No man knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. The human spirit is the most important part of the human personality. God has given us so many ways to feed our spirits one of them is speaking in tongues. When you speak in tongues your spirit man is praying and being built up. It is important to strengthen and cultivate your spirit – make sure your spirit is in unbroken communion with the living God.

Proverbs 20:27 says, “The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all the inner depths of his heart.” Your human spirit acts as a lamp that the Lord has provided for you to search the depths of your heart and inner nature. It is God’s instrument by which He interfaces with you and communes with you in your spirit. We are not just more intelligent than other creatures but God created us with a human spirit, with understanding, wisdom, capacities and capabilities. We are special creations of God and we carry a unique image of God in our spirits.

The human spirit’s capabilities unter the anointing of the Holy Spirit

Your human spirit is awakened and made alive by Christ through the Holy Spirit once you are born again. All the dead qualities of the ungenerated human spirit are removed and in place of that we have the same qualities that were in Adam before he fell and that are now in Christ. This is what the Bible means when it says we have the mind of Christ.

A seeing spirit

When your spirit is awoken by the Holy Spirit you have a capacity to perceive and see into the spirit realm. You are a seeing spirit just like God. Before God does anything He first perceives it and it becomes a creation in the spirit realm. God first “saw’ the world before it was made – according to His plan and purpose. We must operate the same way.

A listening spirit

You are a listening spirit. God has given us spiritual ears with which to listen to His voice. One of the most important things you can do is to learn how to listen to God and hear what is coming from the spiritual realm. Develop a sensitivity by which you are able to hear the faintest whisper of God – that still small voice on the inside.

No man knows the things of God except the Spirit of God

A speaking spirit

You are a speaking spirit. God did not just see or listen to the intents of His heart, but there came a time when God spoke it – He said “let there be’ and there was. God made us with the same capacity, not independent from or in competition with Him, not on the same level as Him but in partnership with Him as His royal ruler over this planet, therefore we too must see, hear and speak. Jesus said in Mark 11: 22-23 “… Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.”

A thinking spirit

You are a thinking spirit. God has given us a mind like Christ so that we can reason like God. God gives us spiritual understanding – we have to see and know what is ours and that is why we need constant revelation from the Spirit of God.

A believing Spirit

You are a believing Spirit. This means you accept God at His word. It is the most natural thing for the human spirit anointed by the Holy Spirit to believe God. When you take your true place in the spirit realm and flow in the undertanding, wisdom and revelation of God and have the vision of God before your eyes, it is the most natural thing to speak forth a miracle. This is because you are not limited by the world you can see or touch, taste, smell and hear. You have entered into the spirit realm – the realm of faith.

Win the Battle in the Spiritual Realm!

One thing you need to know is this that you will win nothing in the earthly visible realm unless you have first won it in the Heavenly spiritual realm.? Just as when Moses had his hands raised up by Aaron and Hur, and Joshua was fighting in the valley.? The battle was going on in the valley, Joshua against the Amalekites, but the real battle was happening on the hill.? The real battle was happening in the Heavenly places.? And you need to know that you need to pray more.? You need to seek the face of God more.? You need to rise up in more faith in the spiritual realm in your prayer and intercession to begin to see that is where the real battle is taking place.
You also need to know this that when we begin to push forward, the devil throws everything he has back at us. But do not be afraid because God has given you spiritual effective weapons.? ?The weapons of your warfare are not carnal, but they are mighty in God for the pulling down of strongholds?.? And so God is raising you up to be a mighty fighting force, but you need to be part of the Army.? You cannot do it as a spectator.? If you are a simple spectator in the Body of Christ, you are a candidate for problems.? And this word will not protect you.? What you need to do is to line up in the Army of God and together come under the anointing of His protection and come within the wall of fire that you might be protected.
And so I am speaking to you and I pray by the Grace of God you will hear my words and you will act upon them.? Now, one thing, before we come to the passage, I want to remind you that these weapons are spiritual weapons.? We have to walk in the Spirit.? The only way to defeat satan is through supernatural power.? It cannot be done in a flesh and blood manner.? ?We do not wrestle against flesh and blood?. It cannot be done in a natural manner because we wrestle against supernatural powers, spiritual powers, it cannot be done in the energy of the flesh.? It can only be done in the energy of God.? That is why we have to learn that it is ?not by might, not by power, but by my Spirit?, says the Lord.? Amen!? All of these weapons are spiritual.
Now I am going to speak to you today about another weapon.? It is the weapon of the word of God, and this is perhaps the most spiritual weapon of all, because Jesus said that ?his word is Spirit and it is life? so when we hear the word of God, it is a spiritual word.? It is a word charged with the Spirit of God.? The Bible says ?every word of Scripture is God-breathed?.? It comes on the breath of God. In the same way now as I am proclaiming the word of God to you, my words are carried on my breath.? Sound waves are being formed by my vocal chords through the breath that I breathe.? If I stopped breathing now and held my breath I would not be able to speak.? And God, likewise, when He speaks, He speaks with His Breath, and the word that He says is carried to you on the wings of the Holy Ghost. The Bible is a Spiritual Book.? The Bible carries the very breath of God.? That means when God promises something in your life, when God speaks in your life, it hits you with all the supernatural force of the Spirit of God.? The breath of God touches you, and God, along with that word, sends to you the power that is necessary for its complete fulfilment in your life.? When God says, then it becomes, because the Spirit of God is active in your life through the word of God.? Give Him a Praise as we come to ?1 Peter 1?.
1 Peter 1:22
?Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, because all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass.? The grass withers, and its flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures forever.? Now this is the word by which the Gospel was preached to you?.
Now, when we come to the Scriptures we find that God describes His word by a whole range of different images.? For example, He says His word is like light.? ?Your word is a light unto my path and a lamp unto my feet? the Psalmist says.? He also goes on to say that the ?entrance of your word brings light?.? So the word of God is like a spotlight, it shines in the darkness.? That is why we do not need to go around this world stumbling in the darkness not knowing what God wants to do with our lives, not knowing what God wants us to do in serving Him.? Not knowing what is the right way or the wrong way.? Not knowing which direction He wants us to take, because God highlights, spotlights, floodlights our lives by the word of God.? And ?if you walk in the light? of the word of God you will never stumble, you will never be short of an understanding concerning a decision you need to take.? One of the great tragedies of today?s society is that it has sought to extinguish the light of the word of God.? It has taken the word of God from our schools, taken the word of God from our politics, taken the word of God from our entertainment and media, taken the word of God away from its roots in television, and so on, and so on.? And what is happening therefore is that the darkness is coming.? And the darkness is already here to switch on your television, listen to the radio.? You find people walking in darkness, people as it were pooling ignorance in their discussion programmes about what is this, what is the way, or what is not the way.? It seems that people are fumbling about without direction, without vision, without understanding, but ?but the entrance of God?s word gives light? and the entrance of God?s word into your life will enlighten your life and give you the revelation that you need and that you will see clearly what others are not seeing, you will see because you are walking in the light of the word of God.? And the Bible also shows us that because the word carries the light of God, and the word is the light of God, it dispels darkness, it dispels the power of darkness.? One utterance from the lips of Jesus Christ, one word from Heaven is enough to dispel the darkness, and push back the powers of darkness in your life, in your mind and in your heart in the Name of Jesus Christ.
I know I am ministering to people here today.? You find a cloud in your mind, a fog in your understanding, a darkness of confusion.? Let me tell you the missing ingredient in your life is the word of God.? Open the word of God on a daily basis, say ?Lord show me, speak to me, shine the light of your word into my heart, into my understanding, and things that you are unclear about will suddenly become clear.? People are seeking the direction of the Lord for their life in the future.? Open the word of God, there is a word waiting for you, a word of direction in your life.? There are people seeking wisdom concerning their marriages.? Let me tell you, open the word of God and He will shine light into your situation to show you what to do about how to conduct yourself in this current situation.? There are people seeking God in their businesses, and seeking God in their professional lives, not knowing the right way to turn or what the response should be.? Open the word of God, there is a treasure waiting for you there, a revelation waiting for you there, and that revelation will defeat satan every time.? You understand that?? Jesus says, ?I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it?. Then He went on to speak about revelation.? ?Blessed are you Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood has not revealed this to you but my father in Heaven, and on this I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it?.? You see, it is built by revelation.? Your life is built by the revelation of God, and when you receive the revelation of God, then your life becomes strong.? You become impregnable and the enemy cannot touch you, he cannot advance against you, indeed he fears you because you rather advance against him because you are pushing back the powers of darkness in the strength of the word of God in your life.
